1. Introduction

Tip For Me ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile application that enables service workers to accept contactless tip payments using Tap to Pay (on iPhone and Android). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you create an account and use the app:

• Account information — first name, last name, email address, and password (stored as a hashed value)
• Identity verification data — collected and processed by Stripe during onboarding (may include date of birth, address, and government-issued ID details)
• Payment data — transaction amounts, card brand, last 4 digits of card number, payment status, and timestamps. Full card numbers are never stored by us.
• Bank account details — provided to Stripe for payout purposes (IBAN / account number)
• Device information — device type and iOS version, used for Tap to Pay compatibility checks
• Push notification token — if you grant permission, we may send you a one-time notification about new features. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
• Location data — used solely to process Tap to Pay payments via Stripe Terminal, as required by Apple. Location data is never stored or shared with third parties.
• Bluetooth — used to connect to card readers. No Bluetooth data is stored.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To process tip payments via Stripe Terminal
• To transfer earnings to your bank account (Stripe Connect payouts)
• To send transaction confirmation emails upon request
• To display your payment history and statistics within the app
• To send important service notifications (e.g. password reset)

4. Payment Processing

All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. using Stripe Terminal and Stripe Connect. We do not store full card numbers or sensitive cardholder data. Stripe acts as an independent data controller for payment data. Please review Stripe's Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Tap to Pay is a technology provided by Apple Inc. (on iPhone) and Google LLC (on Android). Payment data transmitted during a tap transaction is processed securely by the device platform (Apple or Google) before being passed to Stripe. Their privacy practices are described at apple.com/legal/privacy and policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following cases:

• Stripe — for payment processing and identity verification
• Email service provider — to send receipt emails (only when you explicitly request a receipt)
• Legal obligations — when required by applicable law or a court order

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are kept for up to 5 years for legal and tax compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Data portability

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, hashed passwords, and secure token-based authentication. Payment data is handled exclusively through Stripe's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.

9. Children's Privacy

Tip For Me is intended for use by adults (18+) operating as service workers or merchants. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
